The Chinese Journal of Nephrology
The Chinese Journal of Nephrology, founded in 1985, is an 80-page monthly publication. Under the auspices of China Association for Science and Technology and Chinese Medical Association, the Journal is edited and published by The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. Being the official publication of the Chinese Society of Nephrology, the Journal is circulated both at home and abroad. It is currently the most influential nephrology publication in China. Academician Zhihong Liu from Nanjing General Hospital serves as the Chief Editor.
Guided by the healthcare publication policies and strategies of the CPC and the government, the Journal emphasizes both theoretical and practical concerns, striving to spread the updated outcomes of clinical and basic research on nephrology. To promote domestic and international academic exchanges, the Journal pursues the progressive and scientific nature of articles while underscoring their clinical implications, by doing which providing a qualified platform of academic exchange and continuing medical education for nephrologists. The targeted audience of the Journal includes professionals in nephrology and related disciplines. The Journal has in place columns like Comment, Clinical Research, Basic Research, Dialysis and Transplantation, Short Articles, Review, CME, Case Report, etc. The editing and publication process involves three rounds of review and five rounds of proof-reading, which guarantees the high quality of the Journal. Online review has as well been introduced.
The Journal has currently been included in several domestic and international databases and retrieval systems, including WanFang Database, Chinese Science Citation Database, Chinese Medical Current Contents (CMCC), China Biology Medicine disc, Chinese Medical Citation Index (CMCI), and Chemical Abstracts Service.
The Journal was awarded in 2008 the third prize of Excellent Journal of Chinese Medical Association. Based on the selective criteria, the Journal was listed as one of the Chinese Flagship Science Journals, also known as the F5000, for 3 consecutive years (2008-2017). It was, among the first, included in the Western Pacific Region Index Medicus of the WHO. The Journal was awarded in 2010 the Excellent Journal Prize at the 24th Congress of Chinese Medical Association and in 2014 the Chinese Outstanding Journal.
